Hey guys! I'm officially back (or trying to be, at least -— that has to count for something!)
A lot of stuff has happened while I was gone, but I shall resume my (usually political) ranting soon. Oh, and New Moon's coming out :P
For now, I'm extremely perplexed about the Kerry-Lugar bill. Why are people being so emo? Does everyone actually believe that they can keep asking for money and get it every time, no strings attached? The bill (the complete terms of which not many people have even gone through) makes sense. If you're giving some country money for everything from various aid programs to anti-terrorism, at least you expect accountability. It's a bill :P
Anyway, Pakistani Governments over the years have messed up. Bad. And they've continued to mooch money from USA. I think the public should yell more at the Government which is (literally) burning all this money away. 'Democratically elected' our collective Pakistani foot. It doesn't mean democratically selected to throw away Government funds. There must be accountability and reform, if not a revolution. And please, not an Islamic revolution. I'm sorry to say, but that just won't work out. Our Mullahs still haven't agreed on whether Islam is Socialist or Capitalist (it's socialist, surprise surprise, but hardly anyone notices that).
The basic thing we need is a stable economy. No bullshit which will only last a few years. There should be change, starting out with agricultural reform. Pakistan is still a feudal society. Europe was a feudal society in the Dark Ages. It's time for Pakistan to move ahead. This just can't happen if everyone is unaware of an alternative.

Putting it into perspective...
hae, how true.
Oh, and switching to another, less pleasant topic: why is Asif Zardari under the impression that he is a king, not a DEMOCRATICALLY-ELECTED-LEADER (as the PPP keeps parroting all the time)? I am outraged. If the court says Musharraf is guilty, who is Zardari to pardon him? If those who are charged with administering justice do so, who is a convict to overturn the sentence?

Corporate Responsibility?
Okay, so I just found out about this (the Saad Khan story) and I am horrified. At first I was wondering why I haven't heard about it but now understand that Unilever is abusing its powers to keep the story under wraps.
So I suppose we'll all have to reply on the word of mouth (so to speak/type) to get the story around. Those who don't know, here are some links:
